The pictures below were created in 3d Studio Max 3.1. No post-rendering manipulation has been done. These images are Copyright, P. Maddox 2001-2002. I am available for contract 2d/3d graphic design. Please contact me here.

This is a relatively simple render. It was just a matter of persevering with the various shapes. The materials are also fairly simple, only a few are used.

Eek, this is a little dark. That's what you get for rendering with Max's gamma correction on and not having any system gamma correction. This did take quite a while, but it was one of my first big scenes, so that's more the reason than anything.

I'm quite pleased with this one. It took quite a while; the most difficult thing was getting the textures right, I spent quite a long time playing with the reflectivity and transparency values.

This is one of my latest big renders and benefits from the experience I have. You can't see the wood of the furniture very well, but it's two-tone blue and purple reflective wood. The floor again is reflective. The whole room is lit almost correctly, via a light outside the window, and two bed-side lights.

This is a small-ish scene I made just before Christmas. I've yet to decorate inside, hence the slightly strange lighting effect in the house.
