Almost Famous uncredited track
Apart from Almost Famous being a great movie, it also has a number of tracks that are played for a few seconds, are not credited, or are not on the soundtrack. An example being when Penny is taking William through the Hyatt with the Zepplin fan and he stops to hear a couple singing "Please stay, I wanna hear you play.." and if you can hear it, the words that follow are "..small time blues". The song is Small Time Blues by Pete Droge, and according to a thread on SongFacts is a tribute to Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris.
The track features in full as an extra on the Almost Famous - The Bootleg Cut (Director's Edition) 2000 DVD.
If you're in the US you can also get the track Pete Droge 'Small Time Blues (Acoustic)' from MSN Music. If you're elsewhere in the world and you know who sells it let me know because I can't find it!

You have no idea how long I have been searching trying to figure out who sang that song. For the longest time, albeit naively, I thought it was Neil Young. Partially because I thought it resembled him in that part of the movie. I was obviously way off...thank you very much though.
The song is available on iTunes on Droge's album, "Skywatching."
Thanks for the pointer, Scott. I checked iTunes, but it's only available in the US site. iTunes sucks just like MSN Music!
I'm Portuguese. Obviously I love Almost Famous, and I search in google "please stay I wanna hear you play".. but I don't find anything that show me the name of the singer. Thanks for the information.. kisses, Maria
