Firmware > Installing new < 2.6G firmware
IMPORTANT TO KNOW !
- Flashing firmware is always a risk. This site isn't responsible for non-working pvr-a1's after flashing.
- Never stop the flash ! Wait until the system says it's finished !

 

What you need
- PVR-A1
- Full battery
- PVR ISP download software (click here to get it)
- Firmware binary
- USB cable

Check your current firmware version
step 1: First check what firmware you currently got on you PVR-A1.
Press the [MODE] and [MENU/STOP] buttons together while turing on the PVR-A1
You will now see the following on the display of the PVR-A1

2004/xx/xx
Key Test
xxxx

The numbers on line 1 (PVR V x.x) state the firmware version. (i.e PVR V 2.4).
If this is the same as the latest firmware. Skip this tutorial.


Installing the software
step 0: First update your OSD (theme) using the following manual: installing a new theme.
step 1: Double click on the PVRISPDownloadt_V092.EXE file to start it.
step 2:
Click on Yes
step 3:
Click on Ok
step 4:
Close all other applications and click on Ok to reboot your computer.


Upgrading the firmware
step 1: Press the [MODE] and [MENU/STOP] buttons together while turing on the PVR-A1
You will now see the following on the display of the PVR-A1

step 2: While the PVR-A1 is on, connect it to your PC using the USB cable.
step 3: The display on the PVR-A1 will change. Select PC-CAM using the [MODE] button.
You will now see the following on the display of the PVR-A1

step 4: Your computer will see new hardware and if needed will install the drivers
for it. It can be possible that windows will ask if you want to continue
the install of the software (the so called 'signature logo' screen). Reply
these windows by clicking the OK button. This can happen several times.
step 5: Start up the ISP Download software installed earlier.
step 6:
Press browse to select the firmware .bin file.
Press ISP2 to start the firmware upgrade.
step 7: Confirm the question if you want to down the file to your camera (=PVR-A1).
step 8: Wait around 2 to 3 minutes until the following window appears on you screen.
(meanwhile the blue led on the PVR-A1 will blink).
step 9: Disconnect the PVR-A1 from the computer/USB cable.
step 10: Interrupt the power circle by opening the battery cover and closing it again.
step 11: Check the firmware version again and see if it's upgraded.
Press the [MODE] and [MENU/STOP] buttons together while turing on the PVR-A1
You will now see the following on the display of the PVR-A1
